Pearl Harbor Survivors Event
The 68th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor will be commemorated on December 7th at the Sylvester Powell, Jr. Community Center. The event will be from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., with a moment of silence observed at 11:55 a.m., the time the bombing began.

The event will include a brief history presentation, introduction of survivors, and a display about the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.

H1N1 Flu Update
KDHE has established a phone bank for concerned Kansans to call with questions regarding H1N1 Flu. The toll-free number is 877-427-7317. Operators will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to answer questions. Persons calling will be directed to press "1" on their phone to be directed to an operator who can answer their questions.

Kansans with questions about the virus can e-mail H1N1fluinfo@kdheks.gov. Information is also available from KDHE at www.kdheks.gov

You may also check the CDC website at www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu for specific state to case count ratio and advisory information.

Tree Grant Program
Beginning on January 1, 2009 qualified applicants may receive assistance with trimming or removal of damaged, diseased or dead trees on residential property that pose a risk to structural damage or human safety. Financial assistance up to $1000.00 per calendar year may be provided to qualified owner-occupied properties needing assistance.
